Wade Arnold, pastor

Wade Arnold joined the Ocoee Oaks Ministry Lead Team in July of 2017. Wade has served in several previous ministry capacities including Youth, Education, and Pastor in Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and New Mexico. Wade earned bachelors and masters degrees from Mississippi State University. Wade earned his master of divinity degree from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University. Wade is also a proud graduate of the University of Florida having earned his doctoral degree in psychology. Wade spent nearly a decade in higher education either as a therapist or faculty member at the University of Central Florida, Northwestern State University of Louisiana, and Rollins College before coming to Ocoee Oaks.

Wade's spiritual gifts include teaching, leadership, and pastoring.

Wade is passionate about nurturing followers of Jesus to become more fully formed followers of Jesus.

Wade has been married to Jessica for 17 years and has two lovely daughters, Lily, 7, and Hayden, 4.

Wade's favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 43:18-19, "Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert."

Charla goff, church administrator

Charla graduated form George Washington High School and West Virginia State University. Charla began her work life at Kanawha Valley Bank, and has also served at Second Presbyterian Church of Memphis, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Park Ridge Baptist Church, and has served at Ocoee Oaks for over 20 years.

Charla is originally from West Virginia and has two children and two grandchildren all of whom live in Orlando.

Charla's spiritual gift include administration and service.

Charla says: My passion for ministry comes when I witness a life being changed. Seeing God’s unending love at work and hope for their future.

Charla's favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."

Lin lindsay, Kid's Place director

Lin has been a member of the Ocoee Oaks since 2005. Prior to joining the staff as Kid’s Place Director in October 2013, she served in many capacities in the church including the Children’s Ministry, School Board, and Hospitality ministry. Together with a team of amazing and creative teachers, Lin is committed to providing our families with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Lin is a proud Florida State Seminole with a Master’s degree in Human Development. Prior to serving as Kid’s Place Director at Ocoee Oaks, Lin worked in Behavioral Healthcare in management positions. She started her management career at Walt Disney World after graduation from college.

Lin has a son who is currently working and completing his college education at UCF.  Lin is excited about building relationships with parents, staff and children as they grow in the love of God and develop their faith in Christ. Lin enjoys time with family, friends, quilting, and traveling. Lin currently coordinates a LIFE Group called Sew and Sow at Ocoee Oaks which makes quilts for Navajo widows in Pine Dale, New Mexico and others in our own community.

One of Lin’s favorite Scriptures is Thessalonians 5:16-18, Always be joyful. Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

jodi sewell, worship ministry team leader

Jodi Sewell joined Ocoee Oaks as the Worship Leader in November of 2017.  Jodi has led worship since 2002, and has worked in both traditional and contemporary settings. Her passion is Jesus and encouraging others towards a deep, intimate relationship with Him.

Jodi met her husband, Lance, in high school, and it was love at first sight.  They have been married almost 20 years, and have two teenagers, Evie and Isaac. Jodi has a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, with a secondary in piano.  She has taught private voice since 1997, and enjoys mentoring others to find their voice and to use it to impact the kingdom of God.  She enjoys singing everything from classical to contemporary styles, and uses her broad ability and experience to bring people together in worship.  Jodi’s spiritual gifts include exhortation, discernment, and mercy.

One of Jodi’s favorite scriptures is Psalm 73: 25-26: Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

don thalmann, executive minister

Don attended Saginaw Valley State University where he earned his BBA in Industrial Management & Business Management and his MBA in Finance.

Prior to joining the leadership team at Ocoee Oaks, Don spent 28 years in retail and industrial management with Franklin Covey, Eaton Manufacturing, and Sprint.

Among Don's spiritual gifts are serving through administration, leadership and teaching.

Don's passion for ministry arises from the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people.

Don's favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 1:7, "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self discipline."
