Autism Friendly Christmas Service
Ocoee Oaks UMC is excited to partner with ALERT (Autism Law Enforcement Response Training) to bring a Autism Friendly Christmas Service to Orlando. The service is designed so that kids can sing and move and have a place to go if they become overstimulated. We are so excited to offer this worship opportunity to families with members diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. ALERT has generously donated 20 sensory kits to the church which will be available for use at the event.
The service is modeled on a traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight service with special attention given to lighting and volume. Rather than candles, we will be using glow sticks to demonstrate that Jesus is the light of the world.
Because space is limited, we are asking everyone to register for FREE tickets to the event. There is no charge to attend this event. Please register by clicking here.
ALERT is a 501 (c) (3) Non-profit that Provides Free Autism Training & Autism Sensory Kits to Law Enforcement and 1st Responders Nationwide. For more information and te schedule a training visit https://www.autismresponsetraining.org.
